About Dr. Kashigar, MD

Dr. Kashigar earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Waterloo where he graduated with distinction and honors. He earned his medical degree from the University of Toronto, receiving the Golden Stethoscope Award for his clinical and interpersonal skills with his patients. Dr. Kashigar completed his surgical residency in orthopedic surgery at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, serving as Chief Resident of Orthopedic Surgery during his last year of residency. He subspecialized in spine surgery by completing the prestigious combined neurosurgery and orthopedic fellowship in adult and pediatric spine surgery at Norton Leatherman Spine Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

Dr. Kashigar is dual board certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS) and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Outside of the office, Dr. Kashigar enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, skiing and playing tennis.

Apart from his strong medical and surgical upbringing, Dr. Kashigar has international-level experience in engineering and computer science, having worked at Google and GE Healthcare prior to pursuing his passion in spine surgery.
